Ethan's First Baseball Game

Ethan had his first baseball game of the season last night. He was the first up to bat and the first pitch that was thrown he hit a double! Pretty good! His next two at-bats he got singles. Their team won 18-8. It was freezing cold, but we had a great time.

The Avett Brothers

A bunch of us from Riverview went to see the Avett Brothers in GR last week. I had heard a little bit of their music before the concert, and I thought it was ok. Well, I guess I should be honest. I laughed at it. It was the craziest bluegrass/rock/punk music I had ever heard. However, it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. They are amazing live. The energy they had and what they could do with a banjo, a bass drum, and a guitar was great!

Here are the pictures I promised a week ago...

Here is Aunt Pat and I at the Tiger's game. You can't see them very well, but we are sporting some sweet pink Tiger's hats!

We drove up to Canyon Lake for a little fun on the boat. On the way up I saw my first cactus. I thought it was cool so I had to take a picture of it.

Here's a picture of canyon lake. It was amazing. It was also 110 degrees that day, so being in the water was very nice.

Wow - 2 months since my last post. Does anyone even check my blog anymore?
Can you tell my life is getting very busy? I always said I wasn't going to be one of those people that ran all over doing 100 different things, but that's exactly how it's been. A few big things have happened since my last post...
In April I turned the big 3-0. Yup - I am old. I realized that the other day when I pulled out a completely gray eyebrow hair. Yup - that's bad. Oh well - at least people make haircolor for the gray hairs on my head.
I got into a minor accident a few weeks ago. Thankfully no one was hurt, but I have to go to court to straighten everything out. Fun stuff. Can't wait until that is all done.

One of the coolest things is that for my 30th birthday my mother-in-law and father-in-law surprised me with a trip to Phoenix to see the Tigers play! I used to hate baseball, but a few years ago when the Tigers were amazing I got hooked. It helps that JR and Ethan are hardcore Tiger fans. By default I became one too. JR's Aunt and Uncle live in Phoenix, so I went out and stayed with them for 3 nights. I just got back today. I had such an amazing time. I had never spent a lot of time with his Aunt and Uncle, but I am so thankful I got the opportunity to know them better! They have horses, chickens, ducks, dogs and cats. It was so fun to go out in the evening and be with the horses. It was great. They totally spoiled me while I was out there. They took me to Canon Lake which is a man-made lake in the valley of the mountains. It was so beautiful! We spent a whole afternoon out on their pontoon boat. What a wonderful time!

So the next month will continue to be crazy with school ending, kids kamp, the Mexico trip, and who knows what else. I am hoping for a nice and calm summer with my hubby and kids. I will try and post pictures from my trip tomorrow. Now it's time for bed!
