Stupid Headaches

So I have had 2 migraines in the last 2 weeks - kinda unusual for me to have them that close together. Kinda frustrating, no, really frustrating. I am hoping and praying that they are all out of my system considering that we are moving next week. Bummer thing is that I got this new medicine to try and it doesn't seem to help all that much. I have two different medicines for the migraine itself and then this other medicine that they give chemo patients to keep them from getting sick. Well, they haven't worked. I still get a bad headache and end up in bed for hours and I still get sick. Go figure...

I just wish I knew what triggers them for me. I am allergic to caffeine and that will give me one within 5 minutes of drinking pop, but I haven't had any caffeine lately. I haven't even had a lot of chocolate lately. I had some oreos last night, but that's it. Just wish there was some sort of test that could tell me exactly what not to eat, do, etc. that could keep me from getting these....

Oh well, not much I can do I guess. I felt bad tonight because I was in the middle of cooking dinner for our small group and I got it. JR and Wendy had to finish getting dinner ready. Speaking of our small group - it has been going really well lately! We are now up to 4 couples :) For a long time it was just Joel and Wendy and us. We have a co-worker of Joel and his wife coming now, and Rachel and Ryan from church. Evy Sommerlot used to work in the same school district as Rachel, so she hooked us up. Seems like a great mix of people. I am really enjoying it!!

Well, I am off to try and get some sleep. Nice thing is the kiddos are still in GR so I can sleep in tomorrow morning!

Sleep, Wonderful Sleep

JR and I decided to "take the day off" and stay home all day. He took the day off work and I am not going into church today. We slept until 10:30! This is really nice - I could get used to this! It is definitely weird not having the kids. We have been able to do some really fun stuff the last 3 days. We went out to BW3's last night and had a great dinner and just a lot of fun. I think we've gone out everynight since the kids have left. Tonight's poker night and tomorrow is our small group. We've gotten a lot of packing done. Our house is looking very bare now - kinda weird and sad. The kids won't know how to feel to come home to a very bare house!

On another note, this hurricane Wilma that is heading towards Florida is beginning to worry me. My sister and her husband left this morning for a week-long vacation on the gulf coast of Florida. Kinda hoping that this hurricane that is "the strongest storm every recorded" takes a different turn.

On another tangent... My mom torn her rotator cuff about 10 days ago and is flying up here from Georgia to have surgery. She has to be immobile for 6 weeks, and my sister and I are a little afriad how she will do down there with just my dad. He's not a big fan of cooking, laundry, etc., so we wanted to make sure my mom wouldn't go and try to do all that for him. She will be up here until after Christmas.

This might be one of the weirdest post I have ever posted. Can you tell my brain is on vacation today? Oh well, a crappy post is better than none at all, right??

Quiet...

Ethan and Hailey are staying with JR's sister and her husband in Grand Rapids for the week. Holy cow is it quiet at our house! I stood in the kitchen this morning and realized that we have 2 loud clocks in the house. I don't know as I have ever actually heard them tick before. I sat there and laughed.

I plan on getting a lot of packing done this week. We get the keys to the new house next Monday. I still can't believe we are moving. We go and see the house tonight so we can measure a couple things and figure out what kind of fridge can fit in the kitchen. The one bum thing about the house is that there are no closets in the master bedroom which is in the loft upstairs. Still trying to figure out how to handle that. Right now, JR and I both have big closets. Lot's of cleaning out to do, I guess.

One fun thing is our garage - it's huge - 720 sq. feet! Visions of big partied happening in there make me smile. Should be a fun place to have poker night too. We are looking to buy one of those big heaters that sound like a jet engine taking off to heat the thing.

Well, off to pack. Hopefully I will update a couple times this week since I have so much time on my hands!
