Free Web Counter My Life: March 2008

After JR got back from Mexico last summer, the group that he went with chipped in and bought us a gift certificate for a night at the Wild Goose Inn in East Lansing. We just got around to using it this last night. Justin and Devon were kind enough to offer to watch our kids so we could go. JR and I had never been to a bed and breakfast before, so we weren't really sure what to expect. I think we were both looking forward to getting away, but weren't expecting too much from this place. Well, we were blown away.

We walked in and the house was really beautiful. There was a sitting room with a fireplace and wonderful music playing in the background. We went up to our room and it was really nice as well! It even had a jacuzzi in our room with skylights all around. To top it all off, we turned the tv on and "Titanic" (one of our favorite movies) was on tv. The bed was honestly the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on. Then this morning we came down for breakfast and we had a delicious full breakfast cooked to order!

So, if you ever want a really nice place to get away that is close to home (if you live near Lansing), you have to check this place out! They have 9 different rooms which all have a different theme. You can check their website out and see a 360 degree view of each of them. We have already decided that this will be somewhere we go at least once a year!

What Easter Celebrates...

Tonight Hailey and I were driving around and we began to talk about what Easter is about. I asked her why we celebrate Easter. She thought about it for a second and said that's when God gave us Jesus. I said "no, that's what Christmas celebrates." She said, "oh yeah, that's right. Easter is when Jesus died on the cross." I wiped the sweat off my brow after thinking my daughter really didn't know what Easter was. So I asked again just to make sure she remembered... "Hailey, so what does Easter celebrate?" Her response: "It is when we celebrate Jesus dying on the cross and when we color Easter Eggs for Him."

So close...

RivKids Easter Egg Hunt

This Saturday, March 15th from 10:00am - 12:00pm, Riverview Church will be having it's annual Easter Egg Hunt!! If you have a child (or children) 12 months old through 5th grade, plan on coming!! We will have Easter Crafts and other fun activities in the lobby, then we will be telling the Easter story, then we will set the kids free to search for the 10,000 eggs we have hidden around the church.

We will be dividing kids up by age, so that everyone stays safe! Just be sure and bring a basket to put all the eggs in!!
