Random Nothingness

Nothing much to say lately. I've been really busy getting registration stuff ready for Kids Kamp. I forgot how much I love doing administrative stuff. I have been having so much fun. Kinda feel like a dork...

In the last week I've seen Star Wars with Joel, Wendy and JR. Really good movie. I'm not a huge Star Wars fan, but being married to JR, that was part of my vows. The next night, Wendy and I went to The Comedy Zone because JR won free tickets. Well, about 45 minutes into it Wendy and I had to leave. It was so bad. I felt really bad because this was Wendy's first time to a comedy club. I have been two times before and it was hilarious. I sat there listening to the comics and was wondering what Wendy was thinking. I must have apologized 20 times about how it normally wasn't that X-rated. At least we got a good laugh about it.

My sister-in-law and 3 neices fly in to Lansing today from Ukraine. My brother and his family are missionaries over there. They are going to be home all summer. I am pretty excited! It's been about 2 years since I've seen them. My brother and another of my nieces flew in a couple weeks ago. I can't believe how much my neice had changed. I am excited to see the rest of the family.

Sorry this is a pretty boring post. I will try and be more exciting next time...

Spa Day

Today Wendy and I got together for lunch like we always do on Wednesdays. We went to Celebration Cinema first and won some "Star Wars" tickets for our hubbies and then came home to eat lunch. While I was fixing lunch, Wendy got roped into playing beauty shop with Hailey. She painted Wendy's nails 2 or 3 times and combed her hair over and over. Hailey was done doing her hair and looked at Wendy's bangs and said, "you need a haircut." Wendy agreed that it was time for a haircut and without hesitation Hailey immediately says "ok" and begins to run upstairs to get some scissors. It took us a second or two until we realized what she thought we meant. That could have been really, really bad.

Cookin' Fun

So Hailey helpled me make some tortillas tonight for dinner. While I was cooking them, she started to make her own dinner. It includes spaghetti, brown sugar, flour, rice, and sugar. She was so proud of her "pie-cake" as she called it.

Hailey then decided to add some red hots, sprinkles, poultry seasoning, and pretty much any spice that she found in my cubbord. It smelled a little rancid. She decided it looked very appetizing and decided to try it:

Free Tickets!!

So I won tickets to see Good Charlotte this friday night but I can't use them! The concert is Friday night at 8pm down at DTE near Detroit. I am really hoping that someone reading this can use these tickets because I would hate for them to go to waste. I didn't know when the concert was when I won the tickets. If you, or someone you know, would be able to use the tickets, e-mail me or leave a comment and I'll get them to you.

Prayer

So over the last couple weeks, we have been having some interesting conversations about prayer with Joel and Wendy. We have been talking through how much our prayers really affect how God will heal people or if we will find the right car, house, etc. Is prayer more for us and our relationship with God or if a "certain" number of prayers are "logged in" about a certain issue, will God change what will happen.

I have always wondered about this and it has been interesting to research this some more. We tried a word study with the Gospels, but that didn't prove to help us that much. Then Wendy and I found a great workbook that looked like it would help us understand this subject. Well, come to find out the author is a little shady so that idea flew out the window. Do any of you have a good book on prayer? We really haven't had any luck finding a book that specifically talks about prayer and how it's used in scripture. If you have any idea, we would love to hear them!
