What's New?

Ethan has the flu bug that's going around. Poor kids always seems to get the puking flu while none of the rest of us get it. Yeah, now that I have said that we will all wake up tomorrow morning sick.
I am hoping that's not the case because I am supposed to go to the Women's Conference tomorrow at Riverview. I am really excited about it - a lot of my favorite people will be there and even speaking.

I went back to the migraine doc the other day because my "elimination diet" wasn't working - I was still getting migraines. She ended up putting me on medicine to prevent them, not just treat them. If it works, I will be very excited. There are some big things going on this summer and I was a little worried about the headaches interfering with them. JR's sister is getting married in June, Kids Kamp is in June, and we are going to be in Mexico for a week in July. Would be nice to not have to worry about getting so sick while all that is going on!

Sorry for the randomness of this post - just wanted to post something.

David Copperfield

For my birthday, JR and our small group went in and bought us tickets to go see David Copperfield at the Wharton Center. When I was younger, I loved him. I would record his specials on TV and watch them so often I had all the music memorized. I know - I'm a dork. When JR and I started dating, JR asked me about the 8x10 photo I had of David Copperfield in my room. Yeah, I actually had a photo of him in my room.
So, Saturday night JR and I went to see him. Suzanne came over and watched the kids for us. The show was supposed to start at 9pm, but at 9:00 the doors into the auditorium hadn't even been opened. It was 9:10 when they finally opened the doors. The lobby was wall to wall full of people. It was a little strange - no one made an announcement about what was going on or anything. We were sitting on the stairs up the to Grand Tier Lounge so we got a great view of all the people. It's a little dark, but here is a picture I took...

We had a really good time that night. The show was great. I was afraid that JR would be mocking David Copperfield all night, but I think he enjoyed the show as much as I did. Some of the tricks that he performed were amazing. I can't even imagine how he made them look so real. Here's a picture of us waiting to get into the Wharton...

Happy Birthday to Me

So Thursday was my 28th birthday. Yippee! I actually love birthdays - not sure how many more years I will be able to say this, so I am enjoying it while it lasts. This year JR planned a suprise party for me! It was really fun. We cleaned out the garage and had the party out there. We had our small group (14 ppl), JR's family, my sister and 3 of my neices, and the Price family. It was such a beautiful day on Thursday and a great evening, despite the occasional raindrops. Here are a few pics from the evening...

Very cute picture of Jaden

Suzanne and Melissa looking as cool as ever

The crazy thing is that Hailey actually took the last two pictures all by herself. Not bad, eh?

Riv at Wharton

Today was the big "One" service at the Wharton center. For those of you that don't know our church runs 5 services every weekend so this was our chance to have one big service all together. It was a lot of fun. There were 4 of us that didn't actually get to be in the service - we got to help out with the kids. Susan had the little babies, I had 1-3 year olds, Wendy had 4 years to 2nd grade and Missie was with registration and overseeing everything. It was a little crazy to say the least - no real classrooms. We had the kids in 2 lobbies upstairs and one in a rehersal room. I have to say it went a lot smoother that I could have ever imagined! I think the kids had a lot of fun too. We had movies, crafts and fun new toys to play with. We had some AMAZING volunteers from Spartan Christian Fellowship! They made the day so much easier.

I have to say that I am exhausted though. I really felt sorry for the sound people that had to be at church at 5am! We didn't have to be at the Wharton until 7. After church the 4 of us that worked with the kids went out for lunch at PF Changs. Very yummy!!

Here are a few pictures from the morning

Barbie Hot Tub

Hailey loves to help me do the dishes. The other day I come into the kitchen and find this in my sink:

She took the pan from my brean machine and made a barbie hot tub out of it. Sorry to those of you offended by the nudity...
